Yonge and Eglinton
Yonge and Eglinton is one of the most popular spots in Toronto. Centrally located with apartment rentals that feature subway access making the downtown core only 10 minutes away, renters find the area an overwhelming value proposition. The street scape reads like a chapter in the Canadian Who's Who for retailers. Indigo, Chapters, Starbucks, Second Cup, Timothy's, Tim Horton's, Future Shop, Sporting Life, Bata, Shoppers Drug Mart and Licks are well represented on the strip. There are also some lovely Sushi and Italian restaurants in the area. One favourite jaunt is Grazie, which is packed every night of the week. Need a combo? Hit the Pickel Barrel for a couple of "Fressors", greek salads and milk shakes and then walk a few feet to the flicks at SilverCity (see below). You will be full. Very full.
SilverCity provides an unparalleled cinema experience, while the many fitness clubs in the area provide you with a chance to work off all the great food. There are also some great jogging paths that can be entered from Yonge street about a kilometer north of Eglinton.
The convergence of the subway, shops and restaurants have helped make Toronto's Yonge and Eglinton what it is today: a truly world class neighbourhood with apartment rentals.
